The international recognition of Selena Gomez as a performer and actress singer is undisputed. Her Disney series Wizards of Waverly Place is one of her best-loved shows. Selena Marie Gomez is her full name. The full title is Selena Marie. Amanda Cornett is her mother and Ricardo Gomez is her father. Selena was the very first child of her mother, who was barely sixteen when she reached the time of Selena. When she was just 9 years old Selena made her first job on the stage by playing Gianna on Barney and her Friends. The role was to be one of the children who got to play with the most well-known human-like dinosaur in the form of a purple. Selena worked for several seasons, including season 7 and 8 between 2001 through 2003. Interesting facts: Demi Lovato, who was part of Barney's Friends in the same time period also, was a co-star with Selena. Selena Gomez tried out for many roles after leaving Barney and his Friends, however, she failed. Following the end of the show, Selena was able to audition for several roles in other movies and programs, but she did not have much success. The role as Emily Grace Garcia was assigned to her in the 2006 film Brain Zapped, for which she composed a soundtrack.
